Medical Services
Permanency
The goal of Compass Connections is to help each child find their true north. Our goal is to ensure each child’s safety and well-being are paramount, with a focus on permanency – ensuring all children are safely placed with their forever family.
What We Do
Compass Connections has its own robust medical operations with multilingual healthcare workers who deliver culturally-effective and evidence-based care from newborn through adolescence. Compass Connections medical services include assessment, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of health concerns and daily administration of all medications.
Services are provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year onsite, through an on-call system and in a sick clinic setting, where our team can diagnose and immediately treat emergent issues and/or enhance medical services already provided.
Primary Medical Care
Patient-centered medical support coordinates medical care across all levels of the healthcare system, such as specialty care, hospitals, home health and community services. Our Medical Providers excel at the management of acute and chronic diseases, well-child visits and sports physicals.
Epidemiology
Our epidemiologist team consists of public health experts focused on disease mitigation and contact tracing in congregate care and community settings.
Vaccinations
Compass Connections is an authorized COVID-19 vaccine and Texas Vaccines for Children provider, promoting administration of vaccines according to the Advisory Council of Immunization Practices (ACIP) schedule.
Psychiatric Services
Compass Connections offers remote and timely access to psychiatric evaluation and management with an emphasis on culturally effective, trauma-informed care for children and adolescents.
Training
Compass Connections’ registered nurses provide trainings such as CPR & First Aid, bleeding control, medication administration, blood-borne pathogens, and personal protective equipment (PPE) donning and doffing.
Health Education & Advocacy
Compass Connections supports and promotes childhood and adolescent development to reduce common health complications and risky behaviors. We work to prepare our children to navigate the healthcare system.
